Beginner to advanced guitar scales are used to play lead guitar. To learn guitar soloing on a dvd, you have to have understand scales. The shapes and fingerings of the scales notes on the fretboard varies based on the guitar keys, the guitar chord shapes, the 2 to 3 note per string patterns, scale speed and the guitar method used such as CAGED or guitar instruction method. Scales are created with at least a series of five or more notes and it is whcih opens a wide range of possibities for soloing and lead guitar that can make your head spin without a way to understand guitar in a complete way. You will learn more than about guitar scales, modes, entire fretboard fluidity and more using our guitar software, than with any other guitar learning dvd available.

Specific intervals between notes define the makeup of various guitar scales and their modes. While sometimes two scale notes are played at the same time for effect, this is not a chord, it is called an interval. Scales are generally played with a pick, along with legatto, tapping, or even fingers (although you don't generally think of lead scale runs with just the right hand fingers, ie. fingerpicking).

Guitar scales come in many names and alterations, so there is much to be understood in regards to using and applying them. As one of the key building blocks of guitar and music, scales are one of the three blocks that includes chords and arpeggios.

Many times guitar players either get good at playing lead guitar and understanding how to play guitar scales while being very weak at playing guitar music chords or guitar arpeggios. Good guitar education is essential to be a well rounded player.
