GUITAR COUNTRY CHORDS
Guitar country chords are often major chords and dominant 7 chords, and many times are moved around the fretboard in partial chord forms as chord licks. The difference between country chords and other chords is more how the chord is played in relation to the rhythm, timing, amplifier sound and added extra lick notes.
Country chords are often arranged close together for fast chord changes and fast scale lick changes. Understanding your chord forms and scale forms on the fretboard is very important for playing country chords and licks. You need to be able to move fast and change your pentatonic scales often for example. It is also important to really understand and be able to apply non-scale tones to your scales as this is what country players do a lot to get the type of sound and runs that they create.
