BASS DOUBLE THUMB SLAP
The bass double thumb slap is a variation of the basic slap technique that is used over funk groove lines, but can be used with jazz improvising, rock, blues scales, and more. It can allow you to play the slap method faster and easier creating two slap sounds together for greater playing efficiency and generating that particular sound. This is due to the techniques method of slapping the string on the downstroke with the thumb as you normally would do with a slap, but then you strike the string on the upstroke with the thumbnail.
This double thumb technique can be applied on any string. Muting, Hammer-Ons and Pull-Offs are used with this technique.
You will probably find that it is a good idea to have some proficiency with this technique as well as with a pick and fingerpicking because it isn't that difficult to at least acquire a working skill with all of these even though you may prefer and perfect one technique over another.
However, more importantly than the actual technique of slap pop is the ability to apply it is a meaningful way by fully knowing bass music theory and your bass fretboard.
