Walking Bass - Fingerstyle Guitar Method
Playing the guitar with the fingerstyle method allows you to play a walking bass technique on the guitar. This will create the effect of one guitarist sounding like two guitar players or of a guitar and a bass player. The guitar fingerstyle technique uses walking bass with chords in this manner. As the chords of progress are played, individual bass notes, such as the root note for example, or other notes a half step away, or other chord tones, are played along with the chords as individual notes. They can be on and or off the beat and may use pentatonic or other scale tones to make moving guitar lines.
There can be other note values or durations added as well in these walking bass arrangements. A guitar thumbpick is sometimes used, hybrid picking where the pick is held normally and the other fingers play the other strings, or with all fingers using the thumb as the pick with no physical pick at all. Walking bass is a guitar technique, not an answer on how to learn and play the guitar. Learn what you really need to know about how to play guitar beyond anything you have tried before, with a the high end of guitar courses for an amazing value.
