Walking Bass Lines For 4 - 5 - 6 String Bass
Bass lines that are called "walking bass" are usually bass lines that have notes with a quarter note duration. Just think about how this creates a steady, walking along type of bass line, by using a series of quarter notes over the chord changes. This can be done from using just the root notes of each chord and playing quarter notes, playing the chord tones, playing fourths or fifths, using octaves, starting from degrees other than the root, using approach notes, etc. Whether Blues, R&B, Gospel, Jazz, Rock, Country walking bass lines are important for bass players to incorporate into their playing repertoire.
